Whoever thought that videotaping yourself in drag, while singing a mock pop culture anthem about shoes would get you a Kid’s Choice Award?
Liam Sullivan was a lesser know sketch comedian until he created the Kelly character, a shallow deadpan girl with a penchant for swearing and shoes. He uploaded his comedic brilliance online and became a YouTube sensation with over 18 million views for his video about shoes. His cult-like following with teens won him the newly developed Kid’s Choice Award for user generated video content, and has since become an advocate for self promotion.
2007 has marked a change in how people gain celebrity, so screw your agent and get a YouTube account.
