Sending your D.N.A to a… Website?

Posted on | February 1, 2008 |

There are a lot of pornography sites on the Internet,  but none of them take the prize for the creepiest  website to launch in 2007. That award goes to two sites—www.dnaancestryproject.com and  www.familytreedna.com—that invite users to send in their DNA in order to trace their genealogy. So, now, along with our preferences, lifestyles, usage habits and vacation pictures, our genetic code will be available online as well. We shudder at the thought of that database being cracked.
