The Aphrodite Project, a New Platform for GPS

Posted on | February 1, 2008 |

With high-risk professions, taking the proper safety precautions is an imperative part of doing a job well. Prostitution is no exception to the rules, and the Aphrodite Project has been launched to help people in the sex trade protect themselves while on the job.  This security system comes in the form of massive platform shoes that have embedded GPS, emergency alarms and a tracking device. They also connect to the Internet so that the women can talk to customers online, post pictures to their MySpace page or twitter their latest venture.

While the equipment seems more suited for a James Bond film then for a night walking the streets, it certainly provides all the essentials for a girl on the go…well, a working girl, that is.
